STYLING THE PINK TREND

New Look Fashion

I think it's safe to say, I'm a little obsessed with New Look lately. (A little? Maybe a little more than a little.) I was recently given the challenge to style up a new shoe from the summer collection, so I took it on with excitement.

I had a budget to stick to, so to create a full outfit for £80 was my goal. I succeeded, coming in with a total of £79... that included my accessories too! That's one of the reasons I love New Look, there's so much choice to choose from when sticking to a budget, not forgetting to mention it's affordable, and to top it off, the quality is absolutely fantastic - (ok I think that's more than one reason!)

Pink has been a huge trend for this SS17, & I haven't been able to get enough of it myself!
I've been loving this trend so much, & my heart jumped when I saw these trousers online... high waisted, slim leg, buckled, WITH POCKETS! = SOLD. I wanted to make these the centre point of my outfit, and work the rest of the styling around it. Embroidery is another trend that's still going strong, I loved this statement mesh top - it's going in the basket! The colours of the flowers on the top seemed to go with the trousers, giving this look even more of a pop of colour!

Then this brings me to the shoes... so much choice New Look! I'm in shoe heaven.
Thankfully I knew what kind of style I was looking for, but that didn't stop me having a look through every other style!
You can shop shoes at New Look by clicking here - (don't blame me for adding a crazy amount to your basket though!)
You can't go wrong with a simple black strappy sandal. You just can't.
Is it weird to say that these looked incredibly comfortable from just looking at them on the website? My expectations were not knocked down when they arrived, they were SO comfortable - and, they're perfect for wide feet, which, I wouldn't say I have, but the extra bit of room is always a bonus! This simple style is jazzed up with the buckle feature across the front, which sold them to me really. I love a good buckle, it just gives that extra little somethin' somethin'. This style of shoe works really well with this type of trouser, since it shows some foot, which adds length, so it doesn't make me look crazy short. The shoe also has a small heel too, which for someone who's 5ft2, it helps make me feel confident about my height having that little boost.
For me, shoes absolutely make or break an outfit, and thankfully New Look have a crazy good collection to prevent you from breaking the outfit!

Overall a shopping SUCCESS. Plus, I can wear each of these pieces with a whole load of other outfits, perfect!
P.S some of these styles have just dropped into the New Look sale - so get in there quick!

My overall tip on how to rock the pink trend? HAVE FUN WITH IT!
There is so many ways to incorporate a trend into your outfit, this doesn't mean you have to wear the boldest trousers out there,
start off small if you like, this can be achieved easily by accessories (such as the choker I'm wearing).
Explore new styles, prints, & colours! That's what fashion is for! Experiment!
Wear something new with confidence - you look FABULOUS.
